Pot of Sunshine

Pot of Sunshine, Acrylic on Crescent Board, 10"x10", $150
I'm just getting back in the studio after my trip south to visit family.  I decided to start with a somewhat abstracted pot of flowers.  After a long, cold winter, I'm totally loving the daffodils and other early spring flowers.

In this painting, I used a combination of palette knife and squeegee (fracturing) to get the texture and broken color.  I wanted to get a really loose look.  I was also trying for more abstraction than I got in the end, although I did manage to lose some edges on the vase.
