Pot of Sunshine

Pot of Sunshine, Acrylic on Crescent Board, 10"x10", $150
I'm just getting back in the studio after my trip south to visit family.  I decided to start with a somewhat abstracted pot of flowers.  After a long, cold winter, I'm totally loving the daffodils and other early spring flowers.

In this painting, I used a combination of palette knife and squeegee (fracturing) to get the texture and broken color.  I wanted to get a really loose look.  I was also trying for more abstraction than I got in the end, although I did manage to lose some edges on the vase.

Ten Years at Frog Hollow!

Up on the Hill, Acrylic on Crescent Board, 10"x10", $375 (framed)

I'm proud to announce that my work has been on display at the Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Center for ten years.  I was fortunate to have my work accepted in 2005 and have been bringing my work there ever since.  It has been a wonderful period of learning and growth. I've had the good fortune to be able to improve my painting skills as I learned some of the business of art.  I hope that I will be able to continue to learn and grow for many more years.

If you are ever in the Burlington (Vermont) area, please stop in to see the wonderful works created by Vermont artists and artisans. They are located on Church Street in downtown Burlington, VT.
