Sunflower #20

Sunflower #20, Acrylic on Watercolor Paper, 14.5"x7", NFS
Day 22 of the 30 Day Challenge.  Today I started off with the idea of just playing off the center of the sunflower. As I was working this emerged - instead of petals, I got the sepals of the dead flower head.  I will probably revisit this painting after the challenge is over to make some tweaks. Nevertheless, I like what I got and I think I will do some more with the seed heads. Since we got a frost earlier in the week, we have lots of them.

Frost already? Surely not but then I saw Vermont. Yep! it is the start of fall after all.
I am enjoying seeing your experimentation. Good for you.
This one is almost none representational - especially in the thumbnail.

Thank you Sue and Julie! I feel like I'm lurching from one point to the next - hopefully in a positive direction. It's fun when some of the experiments work reasonably well.
